Wow, was that exciting: What a game, and what an effort from our White Sox!
Well, we played maybe our best game and came up just a little short. Nonetheless, I could not be more proud of the team's effort and the level of competition they all showed. They continue to get better every week and never complain (much, though they do ask a lot of questions).
A special thanks to Matt Struck and Andrew Johnson who helped me out tremendously through the season. They were great coaches and teachers of the game. Aaron Hilgenberg and Drew Harden also came and helped out at practice and games: Thank you, gentleman, for giving up your time to help coach and teach these kids about the game of baseball. It is a testament to that time and commitment that our players heave learned and grown so much this season to the point that we put the pressure on the Orioles--pressure enough to make them extremely uncomfortable and anxious for once--and almost knocked out the #1 seed. That is still a huge victory in my book--the growth in each player and the growing love for the game. Couldn't be prouder of our White Sox team!
We play the Cubs for 3rd place on Monday night (ironic pairing, I know). The game is currently schedule for 7:35; I will keep you posted if that changes. We will meet at the Big Field where we practice at 6:45 Monday night to play catch and get loose. We will walk over and see the end of the Championship game and then we will play our last game.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions,
